ज़मीं पे चल न सका आसमान से भी गया
कटा के पर को परिंदा उड़ान से भी गया
किसी के हाथ से निकला हुआ वो तीर हूँ जो
हदफ़ को छू न सका और कमान से भी गया
भुला दिया तो भुलाने की इंतिहा कर दी
वो शख़्स अब वहम ओ गुमान से भी गया
तबाह कर गई पक्के मकान की ख़्वाहिश
मैं अपने गाँव के कच्चे मकान से भी गया
पराई आग में कूदा तो क्या मिला ‘शाहिद’
उसे बचा न सका अपनी जान से भी गया
